5.11 Tactical™ implemented several ABS e-commerce solutions. These solutions allow 5.11 Tactical™ to direct all their orders to a single, common order and inventory management system. As a single source system, there is "one version of the truth" as there is only one repository for data and processing.

Using ABS B2C (Business-to-Consumer) bridge allows 5.11 Tactical™ to interface their own end consumer Website with ABS ERP. All orders are "transmitted", as scheduled by 5.11 Tactical™, to ABS and edited for accuracy. Once the order passes validation it is then sent to the live order processing system. All this takes place behind the scenes through an interface that constantly checks for new orders. Once an order is in ABS, it can be processed as allocated inventory and a pick ticket generated and sent to the distribution center for shipping. Once shipped, credit card information is transmitted to the financial institution for settlement and payment. All of this is done automatically by the ABS core system.

Once an order is shipped, and tracking information recorded, it's uploaded to 5.11 Tactical™'s website so customers who placed orders are able to obtain updates and track the status of their orders.

All products loaded to the website originate from the ABS core system. As a result, there is no need to manage any separate product files.



Sales rep and Customer portals

5.11 Tactical™ also uses the ABS Sales Rep and Customer web portals. There are many advantages to using the portals.

Major functions of the Sales Rep Portal include:
  • There are no data bridges between the web applications and the host system, providing real time information
  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly summary of order statistics to see how you are doing for bookings, shipments, top 5 booking customers and returns. A user can be authorized to view multiple sales reps and be able to "roll up" the statistics of all of them.
  • Can search product data base complete with images and comprehensive search criteria. Can view statistics about each product and also select for booking. Can sort the product page by the different columns.
  • Direct links to UPS/FEDEX and several truck carriers to look up shipment tracking information.
  • Can perform account maintenance as needed to keep customer records up to date.
  • Can view customer credit position and accounts receivable profile.
  • Can book orders using credit cards utilizing secured encryption technology.
