There are many instances of shows, like the Star Trek series, where there is interaction with a computer to think out and solve problems. While most of us talk to our electronic devices now to follow simple commands, IBM is taking this to a whole new level.
If your meetings have been very unproductive perhaps it is time to invite a new attendee! IBM is experimenting with using Watson (yes, the very same Watson who defeated Jeopardy! champions) to assist in business meetings. At the very least, it can take accurate notes and then do analysis on who is participating and at what percentages. This will be bad news for anyone who comes into the meetings for a nap! Participation now required from everyone!
Ideally, though, Watson will be able to research questions and then analyze the results to produce suggestions for action. Watson, analyze the weather patterns for the next 3 months and my inventory in each of my stores and distribution centers — and suggest a better mix for my parkas.
